One of my absolute favourite venues is St Donat's Castle in the Vale of Glamorgan. It is set in a spectacular location and has tier upon tier of wonderful gardens, with the added bonus of having access to the sea. I had the pleasure of shooting there for the second time a few months ago with Vanessa and Ed, and it was simply amazing. The day was relaxed, fun and full of laughter. Vanessa looked simply stunning and Ed looked very dapper in his military Number Ones. I'm sure military grooms take longer to get ready than the girls, but with all that gear to polish and prepare it's no surprise!
These guys were fantastic to work with and could hardly stop smiling all day. With so many locations to choose from at St Donat's and an awesome couple to work with, it made the taking the couple photographs the easy part! When Ed decided that getting his feet wet would be a good idea when we got down to the beach, I could see from the glint in his eye he wasn't going to be the only one going in... and so played out the classic sequence you'll see below.
Enough from me, time to sit back and and enjoy this selection of wedding photographs from Vanessa and Ed's day, because pictures say it so much better than words.
Getting married? I'd love to hear from you! Especially if you're a Bride and Groom who have an eye for creative wedding imagery. Roughmoor Farm - Cowparsley wedding | Alex and Matt
Everyone hopes for good weather on their wedding day, but did you know that rain is actually a sign of good luck, growth and fertility? Alex and Matt had glorious sunshine for the most part with some very considerately timed thunderstorms which meant they had all the associated luck, but no one got too wet! The day started with bridal prep at Roughmoor Farm with a very relaxed Alex and Co, then we were off to the wedding ceremony held in Taunton at St Georges Catholic church where Matt cut a fine figure in his number ones. The reception back at Roughmoor was wonderful: garden games (including skittles and coconut shy), a brilliant ceilidh, late night outdoor hog roast and dancing under the stars. A beautiful setting perfectly paired with a couple so very much in love. Enjoy these select pictures from Alex and Matt's day.
