Bishop's Palace Wedding Photography | Katie and Christian

Wedding at Bishops Palace, Wells

"Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love."
 Mother Teresa

Well Katie and Christian were smiling, giggling and laughing with each other all day long - a sure sign they are well and truly in love! It was a joy to capture their incredible day in Wells. Sharing my morning between relaxed bridal preparations with Katie and the girls, to beer and banter with the boys at the Crown Inn in the city centre was a great start to the day. The florist Lynnsey Kelly who provided the beautiful flowers actually had a stall in the market, which was fortunate for the chaps as they all needed assistance putting button holes on!

The ceremony, held at St Thomas' Church, had everyone holding their breath at one point when Katie couldn't quite get the ring on Chris' finger... she did succeed eventually, amidst a lot of laughter.

The reception was held at Bishops Palace, a true gem of a venue steeped in history and with a plethora of photographic opportunities. Perfect weather allowed for ample opportunities to explore the beautiful gardens and grounds.

Following the wedding breakfast, the evening's entertainment was provided by Shoot the Moon who filled the undercroft with the sound of trumpets, saxaphones, guitars and drums!

Congratulations Katie and Christian, it was absolute pleasure to be part of your day :)

Dorset Engagement Shoot - Caroline and Ed

Garden engagement shoot

The village of Chideock, Dorset sits on the historic Jurrassic coast and was the location for Caroline and Ed's lovely engagement shoot. We made use of the garden first of all - which will be the setting for their wedding in July - and then, after a quick change of clothes, made our way down to the cliffs and beach. A beautiful evening light gave off a soft glow, add to this a fun and relaxed couple very much in love and I can't imagine more perfect conditions for a photographer! I thoroughly enjoyed this shoot and really look forward to going back in July for their wedding.

Here are a just few favourites from their shoot...

Somerset Wedding Photography - Lucy and Nick

A man in uniform normally grabs all the attention. Not however, when they're up against a gorgeous, sports-loving, blond in her Enzoani wedding dress! Good effort though Nick ;)

Lucy and Nick's stylish Somerset wedding held in Stoke St Mary where the sun shone all day. The bridal prep was held at Lucy's parents gorgeous thatched home which was right next door to the quaint St Mary's church. The boys made good use of the Half Moon pub just a short stroll down the road Nick's army uniform looked very cool. The weather was just perfect and set the scene for a rustic country themed reception.

This wedding really celebrated the best of what a marriage is all about: love, family and friendship. I really enjoyed seeing the happiness and emotion pouring out of everyone. Lucy's Dad lent Nick the use of his classic MG which was very generous (and brave!) of him, Nick did a great job of driving down to the reception with everyone watching :) And to top it off? How about the bridal party taking to the cricket pitch next door to play a little game? Don't think I'll be seeing a bride bowl a yorker for a while! Great stuff indeed.

The party went long into the night and there were plenty of movers and groovers on the dancefloor which I love to see!

Congratulations Lucy and Nick, it was so much fun capturing your amazing day.

Enjoy this taster of their awesome day and keep a look out for the pet tortoise!
