With a super busy season finally cooling down somewhat, I actually have some time to blog about the weddings I have been shooting! This particular one comes from Blackthorpe Barn, Cambridgeshire and as I discovered it is an exceptional venue to tie the knot and party the night away.
Rhiannon and Matt approached me early last year and actually booked me for a different barn venue for their wedding. Unfortunately some local oiks set fire to it, leaving the venue gutted and the couple half way up the creek without a paddle. But with a wider search they tracked down Blackthorpe Barn, which coincidentally was also available on the same date. It was clearly meant to be.
The day itself was a blast: from funky fashion to rodeo elephants, miles of bunting to chocolate crepes, this wedding looked amazing and had a great atmosphere throughout. Even though it was forecast to rain all day, it miraculously cleared at just the right times and even allowed for us to wander around for a relaxed and creative couple shoot.
So a rodeo elephant is probably the funnest five seconds you'll have at a wedding. Even the fittest chaps couldn't hold on for long and it had no remorse for the elderly or children, but it provided massive entertainment value and was a great idea to change things up a bit!
Enough from me, enjoy this selection of photographs from Rhi and Matt's super cool wedding.

Queensberry Pressbook wedding albums
I have decided that from time to time it would be nice to show examples of the stunning range of Queensberry albums that I use. The album shown below is a very elegant Pressbook which Sarah and Darren chose for their Cornish wedding. It is only 10x10" in size, which is smaller than most wedding albums, but don't let that put you off; it is simply fantastic. They went for the Contemporary Leather cover in white, and for a touch of class added the delightful Tintoretto Art paper for the inside pages, which has a wonderful texture and colour quality.
The images below show what the album looks like, with some layouts as well. The design stage is an integral part of the album making process, with the end goal always being to create something timeless and stylish, and this Queensberry Pressbook does just that.
To find out more about the full range of Queensberry albums that I offer please head over to my wedding photography website where I'd be happy to send you all the details.

Clearwell Castle wedding photography | Emma + James
With an unexpected turn of fantastic weather, Emma and James' wedding at Clearwell Castle in Gloucestershire turned out to be just fabulous. With stunning grounds and a couple who gave me extra time for portraits, I was in my element.
Relaxed, fun and creative. Those three words sum up my experience with Emma and James, with their good looks and unique bond, they made things easy for me and were game for anything, even suggesting a nearby tree might make for a different shot! With a gorgeous evening, love was most definitely in the air. It was a real pleasure shooting at Clearwell Castle, but even more so was getting to know Emma and James and capturing them, their marriage, and their lovely friends and family. Enjoy this selection of images from their day.

The Old Corn Barn, Devon | Sam and Ben
Samantha and Ben celebrated their wedding at the charming Old Corn Barn in Devon back in August and I was delighted to be part of the day not least because Ben is also my cousin. Sometimes photographers shy away from friends or family weddings, I however love capturing the day as I have even more of a connection with those involved, helping them to feel even more relaxed.
With changeable weather looming it was touch and go at times as to whether we'd be forced inside for the day, fortunately it held off at the crucial moments and we were able to have everything outside that was intended, from confetti to the couple shoot. The speeches, celebration and crazy dancing were all a treat to capture and the night ended with the newlyweds being driven off into the night to much applause.
Now then, it's time for some photos, as I am a man of pictures, not of words, so feast your eyes on this selection from Sam and Ben's wonderful Devonshire wedding...
