Rhiannon and Matt approached me early last year and actually booked me for a different barn venue for their wedding. Unfortunately some local oiks set fire to it, leaving the venue gutted and the couple half way up the creek without a paddle. But with a wider search they tracked down Blackthorpe Barn, which coincidentally was also available on the same date. It was clearly meant to be.
The day itself was a blast: from funky fashion to rodeo elephants, miles of bunting to chocolate crepes, this wedding looked amazing and had a great atmosphere throughout. Even though it was forecast to rain all day, it miraculously cleared at just the right times and even allowed for us to wander around for a relaxed and creative couple shoot.
So a rodeo elephant is probably the funnest five seconds you'll have at a wedding. Even the fittest chaps couldn't hold on for long and it had no remorse for the elderly or children, but it provided massive entertainment value and was a great idea to change things up a bit!
